of January 1, 2004, the hauler that collects
weekly residential trash and recycling
is Onyx Waste Services, Inc. Residents
are advised that over the course of the
next few months the currently contracted
trash hauler, Onyx Waste Services, will
be transitioning to a new name. The
new name of the company will be: VEOLIA
Environmental Services
Only
the name of the company is changing.
Customers can expect to receive the
same services, and the collection days
will not change. The collection vehicles
will continue to be green in color.
Nothing is required of customer, but
customers with questions are encouraged
to call the VEOLIA (Onyx) office at
(814) 237-3713. The Centre Region Council
of Governments (COG) regularly solicits
competitive bids for residential refuse
and recycling collection services on
behalf of the participating municipalities.
As a result of the most recent bidding
process, Onyx Waste Services, Inc. was
selected to be the exclusive contracted
hauler to provide trash and recycling
collection services in College, Ferguson,
Harris, and Patton Townships for residential
dwellings with curbside service.
