HARRIS TOWNSHIP – MAINTENANCE LABORER

Harris Township is accepting applications for the position of Maintenance Laborer within the Township Maintenance Department. This position performs a variety of public works duties involving the maintenance and repair of Township roads, parks, storm drainage systems, buildings, and equipment. Typical responsibilities include road maintenance, snow removal, brush and leaf collection, mowing and trimming, construction-related work, and operation of trucks and heavy equipment. The position requires outdoor manual labor in all weather conditions and participation in emergency call-outs and winter maintenance operations. Occasional overtime is required.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Experience in construction and maintenance of roads and/or experience in the operation of heavy equipment and machinery is preferred. Applicant should possess a valid Pennsylvania Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B or have the ability to obtain it within 6 months of date of hire.

This is a full-time, 40-hour per week position with a starting wage of $21.99/hour. Harris Township covers 100% of employee premiums for health, dental, vision, and life insurance, pays the full cost of short-term disability coverage, and contributes to your retirement with no required employee match.
